If you're like me, the title of this blog post will take you back to childhood days watching "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" I was practically singing this song in my head all last weekend.

Where were we, you ask?  Why San Diego, of course!  Well, technically, La Jolla, CA.

Elliot and I got to jet across the country for a nice weekend to watch my college roommate, Nicole, get married there.  Nicole and I lived together in a townhouse in Tempe while we were both at Arizona State.  We were ridiculous together, and I'll spare you the countless pictures of us being ridiculous at football games, parties, our apartment, and many other places around town.  She's one of the funniest people I know.

About a year after Elliot and I got married, she introduced us to Eric, her now husband.  This guy was as crazy as her, and I liked it.

We got into town last Wednesday, and slept away the afternoon.  We went to dinner with Elliot's brother Leon, and his wife Brittany at a great italian restaurant they loved.  They live about an hour north of there and made the trip down to go on a double date with us.  It was a great time with great conversation.  I wish I had gotten a picture of the four of us, but I totally forgot.

Thursday, we walked down the street to find some breakfast, and stumbled upon the Cottage.

Our breakfast was SO good.  I had a mimosa and oatmeal pancakes with blueberries and Elliot had a mocha and a southern california style omelet.  If you're ever in the area, make sure you hit up that restaurant.  It was so good, that we went back Saturday morning to meet my Aunt and catch up.

We walked along the beach, and saw the sea lions swimming.  We enjoyed checking out the town, we hadn't been down there since before we got married.

After lunch, we caught up with Nicole and Eric and some of their family and friends before they went to their rehearsal dinner.  We caught back up with everyone at a cocktail party at the Hotel La Jolla.  It was super cute, and a great party with signature cocktails from the bride and groom.

Friday was the big day.  We walked along the beach and watched the surfers in the morning.  We started getting ready just after lunch before heading to the 3 o'clock wedding.

My dress is by this brand called Rieley.  I saw it when I was shopping at a boutique here in Raleigh called Apricot Lane.  I tried it on and loved it.  I asked them to hold it, but went back and bought it the next day because I couldn't get it out of my head.  I'm glad too, I still love it and plan on wearing it many more times.

My necklace is from Anthropologie.  I found it on the sale table over the summer and I had been waiting on the right opportunity to wear it.  I think I like to buy things that make a statement, sometimes it takes a while to get it all together, but at some point, it clicks and I feel like it really works out.

Nicole & Eric got married at Scripps Seaside Forum, which is part of UCSD.  It was gorgeous.  Check out this view!

The bride was even prettier.  It was such an honor to get to be there to watch her and Eric tie the knot, and they had great vows that they had written.

Such a sweet and happy couple.  We enjoyed a cocktail hour directly after the ceremony, and then a great reception inside following.

Thanks, Nicole & Eric, for letting us be part of your wedding day!  We had a great time!  We headed back to Durham the next day on an afternoon flight and we were so excited to smooch our little babies and we are so thankful to have my parents' help with our kids.
