On Halloween in 2009, I sat next to Elliot on the couch, giant bowl of candy on my lap, 36 weeks pregnant with Blake, watching horror movies.

A few nights later, on November 3rd, Blake graced us with his presence after 2 days of labor.

Look at that cute smooshy face!  I just wanna kiss those sweet lips!

He may have shown up a little early, but we were ready.  I'd been having dreams I'd have a Halloween baby for weeks before.

For Blake's 5th birthday, he asked to have a birthday party on Halloween, and since I love a good party, and love Halloween, I happily obliged.

We invited many of Blake's closest friends over and enjoyed yummy dinner and snacks before all the kids ran off to trick or treat from our house or their own houses.  Everyone wore their costumes, Blake dressed as a ninja.

Elliot and I decided to partake in the costume festivities, too.

Blake's friends enjoyed chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, french fries, veggies, cupcakes, cookies, and obviously, TONS of candy.  Here's a look at some of the decor.

The kids played monster bowling, twister, and bean bag toss games.  They ran around the backyard, played baseball, and took turns on the swing set.  Later the boys and the dads ran off to trick or treat, and some of the babies and moms stayed back and handed out candy.... and had some wine.

We finished off the night with kitchen dancing with the kids, and a bonfire for s'mores.  Special thanks to all of Blake's sweet friends that could make it to his party!  He is surely loved and was so happy to have so many friends come over.

I cannot believe this big boy is now FIVE years old!!  I have so many wonderful memories from your first five years, Blake.  We've traveled so much together and gotten to see so many places.  I've watched you yell "Go Daddy!  That's Blake's Daddy!" at the top of your lungs, I've gotten to see your face light up when you saw Cars Land for the first time.

You were my running buddy in the jogging stroller when we lived on St. Pete Beach, you were my cuddle buddy when we spent time at winter ball in Mexico with daddy.  You kept me company during the crazy storms that would hit in Kansas City, and you made the drive with me to see Daddy in Atlanta.

I have watched you grow into such an amazing big brother and a gentleman, I love watching you voluntarily open doors for your sisters and me when we go to lunch.

I love you Big Blake!  Happy Birthday my sweet boy!
