This is nothing new.
Every time there is a big debate (politics especially), people mistakenly assume that their facebook friends haven't considered the options and made up their minds on their own concerning the issue. Then they force feed everyone all the information they can find regarding the debate while trying to further their agenda.
Look, I get it. We all have things that we really care about. And if it was something that you REALLY cared about, we would welcome your thoughts on the matter if we weren't being bombarded with them.
I like my friends on facebook, or I wouldn't accept their requests. I value their opinions... to an extent. However, I don't like having to deal with them stepping up on their soapbox every time they log in (which we all know is daily).
Here's something to consider. If you really care about something, I mean REALLY care, why not get up and do something about it?
Are you really changing lives by sitting behind your computer sharing every single Huffington post you find regarding the issue?
We are a passive generation. And while it seems that we care about a lot of things, many of us feel that we can't actually make any progress or change in the world. It's a self fulfilling prophecy. If that's what you believe, chances are extremely likely that you will never make any change.
Consider for a moment what would happen if you really believed you could make a change. What would you do to do that? It doesn't have to start big, but when people see you doing it, they may join in and it just may get bigger than you ever dreamed possible. Quit using your words to tell us all how you feel and start showing us by taking action. You just may be surprised at what you can accomplish.
